If you’ve been researching wedding venues in Maui and keep coming back to the Maui Pineapple Chapel, I completely understand why! There’s something about this place that just stops couples in their tracks, and after capturing Amy and Makoto’s beautiful wedding weekend there, I can tell you firsthand that it’s even more special in person than it looks in photos!

What Makes Maui Pineapple Chapel So Special
Maui Pineapple Chapel sits in the Kapalua area of West Maui, which already puts it in some of the most beautiful scenery on the island. It’s a private estate venue, which means your whole day — getting ready, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, all of it happens in one gorgeous location without any shuffling between spots. The restored chapel itself has wood floors, ceiling fans, and giant windows that let in the most incredible natural light, and outside you’ve got ocean views, lawns, and that West Maui breeze that makes everything feel a little dreamier. It’s so charming but also so natural and lets the area shine.
What I love most about it as a photographer is how flexible the layout is. Couples can choose between the intimate Mauʻu Terrace overlooking the water, the expansive Makai Lawn for bigger celebrations, or inside the chapel itself. Amy and Makoto used the space so beautifully — their day flowed from one area to the next so candidly. I’ve actually completely fallen in love with this venue!

The Full Weekend Experience — Amy and Makoto’s Celebration
One of the things that made Amy and Makoto’s wedding so special was that they didn’t just plan a wedding day; they planned a whole intimate weekend with their closest family and friends, and it made everything feel so much more meaningful. Their welcome dinner the night before set the tone perfectly, with local Hawaiian eats and the most adorable touch (they brought bunnies to the dinner because they have a pet bunny together at home) It was so personal and so them, and their guests absolutely loved it.
Their wedding day at Maui Pineapple Chapel carried that same warmth and intentionality all the way through. Your Aloha Wedding planned out all the details, and the florals from Floralette were absolutely stunning. Amy wore a gorgeous Justin Alexander gown with a veil from Vows Bridal, and her hair and makeup by Lokahi Collective was perfect. Even the rings from Homsy Jewelers photographed beautifully in the chapel’s natural light.
The reception was everything — DJ Joe Cortez kept the energy going all night, and at one point Amy and Makoto’s friend even jumped on and DJ’d part of the night, which was such a fun personal touch. They also choreographed their first dance together, and it was such a special addition to their day!

What to Know Before You Book Maui Pineapple Chapel
A few practical things worth knowing as you research this venue for your own wedding:
The venue is located in Kapalua, West Maui, which means it’s in one of the sunniest and most beautiful parts of the island. If you’re flying in from the mainland, staying in West Maui puts you right near the venue and makes the logistics of your wedding weekend so much easier — especially if you’re planning a welcome dinner or post-wedding brunch like Amy and Makoto did.
Maui Pineapple Chapel works with outside vendors, which is a huge win for destination couples. You’re not locked into a required vendor list, which means you can build the team that’s actually right for your vision. For a full look at some of my favorite Maui vendors worth knowing about, read more on my blog, Maui Wedding Vendors You’ll Regret Not Hiring Sooner.
The venue also accommodates a range of guest counts, from super intimate weddings to larger receptions, which makes it one of the more versatile options on the island. And because everything happens in one location, your day flows naturally without any of the logistical stress that comes with multi-venue weddings.
