So I thought I’d write up this guide on how to have the BEST engagement session, and also share a sneak peek into how my process enhances your experience.

The Importance of Having an Engagement Session

An engagement session is more than just a photo shoot! It’s an opportunity to celebrate your love story and a chance to get comfortable in front of the camera before your big day. It’s also super helpful if your wedding photographer offers an engagement session add-on, so you can also see how well you all work together!

But how do you ensure that your engagement session captures the feels and the essence of your relationship? The key is in the preparation and choosing a photographer who takes the time to get to know you (like I do!).

My Engagement Session Process

Choosing the Right Package

I offer two packages that include complimentary engagement shoots, with the option to add one to the other packages. This flexibility ensures that every couple can find an option that suits their needs. Once you’ve selected your package, paid the retainer, and signed the contract, the journey to capturing your love story begins.

Getting to Know You

The next step in my process is sending over a “get to know you questionnaire.” This step allows me to understand your dynamics as a couple, your preferences, and your vision for the shoot. It’s all about making the engagement session as personalized and comfortable as possible.

Preparing for the Session

After getting to know you better, I send over a couples guide that walks you through everything you need to know about preparing for your engagement session. This guide includes:

• Suggestions for stunning locations that reflect your personalities and love story.
• Tips for choosing outfits that complement each other and the scenery, ensuring you look your absolute best.
• Advice on the best times to take your photos, considering lighting and vibes to make your engagement photos amazing.

My Engagement Session Packages

Each of my packages is designed with your needs in mind, offering a range of services to capture your engagement perfectly:

• Up to 3 hours of session coverage, ensuring we have plenty of time to capture your love through and through.
• Multiple outfits and locations, allowing you to showcase different aspects of your relationship and personality.
• An outfit planning guide to help you choose outfits that will look stunning in photographs.
• A preview gallery within 2 days of your shoot, so you can immediately relive the emotions and love of your engagement session.
• A complete online gallery within 2 weeks, providing you with a beautifully curated collection of images that tell your love story.

My packages are built to have the best engagement session experience! Having an outfit change and visiting a couple locations during your session really makes your photos shine!

Sienna & Wyatt’s engagement photos in Oak Grove Park turned out so beautiful! The fall colors and the natural surroundings provided a stunning backdrop for their session. We walked around the park and captured their love in a variety of different settings and they also did an outfit change.
